Prostate cancer develops when cells within this gland begin to grow uncontrollably. It's the second leading cause of cancer deaths in men in the United States, with 1 in 7 men being diagnosed each year. While many treatment options exist, little is known about the disease progression of prostate cancer. Because of this, many men will receive unnecessary treatment, while others will undergo treatment that is not aggressive enough.
As a part of the nation’s leading cancer hospital, the Prostate Cancer Moon Shot® team incorporates the knowledge and experience of clinicians and researchers from multiple disciplines and platforms. Together, we are working to bring cures to more patients by more fully understanding the biology of the disease and transitioning standard treatment toward curative approaches.

Now, he is collaborating with the Prostate Cancer Moon Shot team to use single-cell analysis to study how prostate cancer cells respond to different treatments—and allowing patients to forego invasive biopsies in the process.
